Lorenzo Padillia Diaz
Lorenzo was presented with the Distinction Medal at a ceremony at the Cuban Embassy in Paris in the presence of the Cuban Ambassador to France Mr. Rogelio Sanchez Levis by the President of the Cuban National Fine Arts Council Mr. Alejandro Rojas, representing the Cuban Minister of Culture.

Born in Cuba, and a teacher of drawing, he has devoted his life to painting..

Lorenzo has spent forty years in France and has distinguished himself by his remarkable artistic work, seeing it as the reason for his being. A voluntary exile from his native land, the sun, the warmth, and the gentleness of his country has never left him and comes through in his work which is full of colour and light.

In 1998 he donated his private collection to the art museum in his birthplace of Matanzas, Cuba. Lorenzo exhibits in Montmartre and his work can be found on this website.
