Lorenzo Padillia Diaz
Lorenzo Padillia Diaz Born on the 18th September in Mantanzas in Cuba he took his first painting lessons at the age of ten at Tarasca Academy in Mantanzas.
A few years later he entered the Fine Art school where he completed his studies in 1957 with a diploma which permitted him to teach drawing and painting.
1952 First exhibition held in Mantanzas.
1951 - 1958 Wins several fine art awards.
1959 Awarded a bursary by the Cuban government to study Flemish primitive art at the Prado in Madrid.
1961 Settles in Paris.

Painting
A non-figurative style which combines form and colour in dynamic movement,
the painting is equally figurative and literal, showing the faces of very authentic, frightening characters which he is able to make compelling.
